A 3 year/3 event journey that could change everything.

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.
-- Matthew 11:28-30

Know God. Find Rhythm.
Live the Struggle.
Change the World.

The Journey

RHYTHMinTWENTY is a two-year long journey for twenty leaders. It’s the opportunity to find what it means to embrace one’s passion and calling. To establish a strong sense of rhythm and balance in the midst of facing challenges and resistance. And it’s about developing resiliency and deep community.

It’s an event that happens three times (fall of ’15, ’16, ’17) over the course of two years. The point is it’s more than a one-time conference, or a post-event passion, or a new year resolution. It’s different.

During our time together, you will spend both the time and conversation in relationship that are necessary for change. But we will also spend time in specific teaching settings, sharing some of the many nuggets of wisdom that we have picked up along the way. With room for plenty of self-exploration, combined with the voices of others who deeply care, change is inevitable.

Part 1:

Estes Park, CO
September 13-16, 2015

The first year we want to focus on the idea of balance, passion and calling. We’re going to give you specific tools and the time you need to help you find out just where it is that you feel your journey may be taking you.

With some time for self-exploration and the voices of others speaking into your story and life, our hope is to help us all identify just where it is that our passion, dreams and talent may be taking us.

Slap in a day of the ultimate Colorado adventure, a ridiculous bed and breakfast, mountains, and a lot of good food, this week is sure to be a doozy.

Part 2:

San Diego, CA
September 2016

During the second year, we’ll explore the many deep connections that we need to travel the journey well. We’ll wrestle with what it really takes to maintain a deep connection to God, to the people in our lives and to the many things that bring us life along the way.

We’ll wade into today’s trendy topic of ‘community’, as we know that we will not survive the world of leadership (or the world itself) without people in our lives. We plan to bring the dream of journeying together come to life.

Not only do we hope for the relationships we develop while journeying through this event together, but we hope to help identify key relationship that will shape us in the circles from which we come.

Part 3:

Crested Butte, CO
September 2017

And during the third year, we delve into the idea of resilience; that as we continue through the journey of our own failures and successes, our character will constantly be in the pursuit of God, at the height of our dreams, and in the midst of our deepest wounds and struggles.

As this journey comes to a close we plan to mark the time that has been set aside for change with a momentous close. With the inclusion of looking at what it takes to stay the course and finish well, we plan for this year to be the finish needed to live into this life of rhythm, balance, and dreaming huge.

In Between

each year

Change rarely happens overnight. That is why we believe that over the course of three years we might truly have the opportunity to find a new way of living. This time is not meant to be rigid, but to be explorative in our lives, in our world, in our own families, as what it means to find rhythm. Yet the hope is that you will not explore alone.

With the lives of twenty others journeying together and the resources provided by yours truly, we believe that change is inevitable.

It’s hard to entirely define what this time looks like, but what you can expect is to collectively read some of the same texts, watch the same films, listen to some of the same music, and collectively engage the depth of our lives together, from a distance. We’ll connect via multiple avenues throughout the year, while providing the invitation to a new rhythm in your own journey and connection with God. This time won’t be rigid or incredibly time consuming... but we understand that the more we put in, the more we get out. Simple physics really.

$350

Per Gathering

Bottom line: There are people who deeply believe that the lives of twenty young leaders who find a different sense of rhythm to their life and ministry, will make an incredible difference in this world. That’s why, despite the cost of these three years, you only have to come up with $350 for each event and get yourself to where we are.

The impact that we believe will come from the lives of 20 young leaders is worth enough that we have done our best to make sure money will never get in the way.

So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

FAQ

We understand that RHYTHMinTWENTY is a gathering unlike any other. You may find answers to any questions you have via the following FAQ. If there is something that has gone unanswered here, please don’t hesitate to shoot us an email at info@rhythmintwenty.com.

We have finished our first four groups of RHYTHMinTWENTY and mid journey with groups 5+6. These 120 guys came from a variety of contexts of influence–they were church planters, worship leaders, youth leaders, teachers, lead pastors, influencers and business owners who came from 30 different states and two countries to join us.
Yes. Although the actual event takes place over three calendar years. (fall of ’15, ’16, ‘17) Hence, the length of two full years together on this crazy journey.
Year one event starts on a Sunday afternoon at 4pm in Estes Park and ends at 11:00am Wednesday morning (3 days per gathering).
Despite the fact that this world desperately needs more opportunities for female leaders to grow and be challenged on their journeys, we are currently only offering this event for men. We are however currently in conversation about expanding this journey and starting a gathering for our amazing women in leadership. If you would like more information on further developments, don’t hesitate to let us know.
Applications are due by June 15, 2015.
You will know by early July 2015 and upon acceptance your deposit of $350 (your first event’s cost) is due and notification of your travel arrangements a few weeks following.
$350 per event and getting to our locations. You may find yourself buying books, music, movies, etc. throughout the year. Nothing that will break the bank though…
5 star accomodations, all our activities and most meals. and a few adventures along the way…. (there may be a few meals each year that you will need to pick up the cost of).
A little bit of everything but you definitely need stuff that is ok with getting cold, wet and dirty.
Old enough to know better yet young enough to change. So probably somewhere between 24-35. So you might not be totally screwed if you’re 36, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up.
You should apply because you’re 31 and you have a family and kids who need you as much or more than anyone else you journey with. You feel like you’ve gotten the hang of ministry or business, but balancing it with family and life has seemed impossible sometimes. You’re a work in progress and you need a community of guys like you and some fresh ideas to help you find a healthy balance of work, play, and rest. RHYTHMinTWENTY isn’t the latest leadership fad or church growth seminar, its soul work in some of the areas that we all need most: family, rhythm, balance, and longevity to name a few. Honestly, your family can’t afford for you not to apply.
The next three years may be some of the most important years of your life. Right now you’re young, energetic, and loaded with passion. You have dreams–huge dreams–that you want to see fulfilled, but some days you just don’t see how to get there. You wish you had a group of guys who saw life with the same kind of urgency as you do and who are dreaming the same big dreams for the world that you are. Right now you are burning the candle from every possible direction and you have this hunch that if you don’t learn to live with some kind of rhythm and balance, twenty years from now you might be selling used cars or grave stones. Hey don’t worry, people need grave stones and cars so they can drive to funerals, but we believe that if you learn to focus your passion and calling, harness your energy, and live a life with balance you’ll leave a much bigger mark on the world.
